Super Bowl XLIII is less than a week away and football bettors are guaranteed to have more opportunities for action than they can possibly imagine. Online bookmaker BetUS.com has plenty of Super Sunday props available right now and they also have their odds to win Super Bowl XLIII posted, with the Steelers listed as a -6.5 favorite.
The Steelers have leaned on their defense all season long, but quarterback Ben Roethlisberger would appear to be the face and heart of the team. Roethlisberger's ability to escape pressure and find open recievers after the pocket has collapsed is perhaps his greatest attribute. Last weekend he burned the Ravens revered defense on a few different occasions when all seemed lost, including a 65 yard touchdown pass to reciever Santonio Holmes. He finished the game 16 of 33 for 255 yards and a touchdown.
The Cardinals will undoubtedly try to disguise their pressure in order to force Roethlisberger into some errant throws, much like they did last week against Donovan McNabb. However, they will need to remain sound in the secondary or Big Ben could exploit them with his out-of-pocket antics, as he has done to almost every team the Steelers have faced this season.
Cardinals quarterback Kurt Warner has seen it all at this point and, despite the greatness of the Steelers defense, he has dealt with their equal at some time in his storied career. Warner has been masterful this post-season in guiding the young Cardinals to Arizona's first ever Super Bowl appearance. His 112.1 playoff passer rating is 21 points better than any other 2009 post-season quarterback and his poise against the Eagles pressure in last Sunday's NFC Championship Game, particularly on the Cardinals game winning drive, was instrumental in Arizona's 32-35 victory.
The Steelers are renowned for their ability to pressure the quarterback and the Cardinals can rest assured that Pittsburgh will be looking to dirty Warner's jersey early and often. For Arizona to have success, the former league and Super Bowl MVP must continue to demonstrate his uncanny gift to deliver in the face big time heat.
BetUS.com's Odds to Win Super Bowl XLIII:
Pittsburgh Steelers -6.5 (-115), Over 46.5 (-110), -250 (Moneyline)
Arizona Cardinals +6.5 (-105), Under 46.5 (-110), +210 (Moneyline)
