2009 Summary: Finished 14-2 to secure first place in the AFC South. Won the AFC Championship but lost 17-31 to the Saints in the Super Bowl.
2010 Indianapolis Colts Needs: Defensive Tackle, Offensive Line, Linebacker, Defensive End
Possible First Round Picks:
Jerry Hughes (DE/LB – TCU): Hughes is being viewed by many as an ideal outside linebacker in a 3-4 defense, but he played as a down lineman in college and the Colts would use him there as well. Would make a great addition to the defensive end roatation and a nice insurance policy for the oft injured Dwight Freeney. Racked up 26 sacks over the past two seasons at TCU.
Jared Odrick (DT – Penn State): Like Hughes, Odrick may be off the board at this point. If they are both available Indy will have a difficult decision to make. Odrick may get the nod from Colts brass because he should be able to start right away.
Rodger Saffold (OT – Indiana): This draft is deep in offensive line talent and because of the that Saffold should be there when the Colts pick at 31. Showed great skill as both a pass and run blocker at Indiana and could easily move to guard should the Colts elect to use him there.
