by Matt Foust on Thursday, April 22nd, 2010

NFL Draft 2010: It is the second year of Josh McDaniels reign in Denver and Broncos fans are hopeful that the team gets more productive talent in this year's draft. McDaniels will certainly have the opportunity to acquire another player on the level of last year's first round pick, Knowshon Moreno, when he picks 11th overall this evening.

2009 Summary: Finished second in the AFC West with an 8-8 record.

2010 Denver Broncos Needs: Wide Receiver, Offensive Line, Linebacker, Tight End, Running Back

Possible First Round Picks:

Dez Bryant (WR – Oklahoma State): With Brandon Marshall now in Miami, the Broncos are in need of a wide receiver. Bryant is the best available, despite some concerns about his character. The former Oklahoma State Cowboy, who had his junior season cut short due to an NCAA violation, caught 87 passes for 1480 yards and 19 touchdowns in 2008. Big time talent with game changing ability.

Mike Iupati (OG – Idaho): The Broncos once vaunted ground attack ranked 18th in rushing yards per game last season at 114.8. Not a horrible total but far from great. Iupati, who stands 6' 5" and weighs 331lbs., would make an immediate difference in the ground game and he is also a capable pass protector.

Rolando McClain (LB – Alabama): Denver had more than a little trouble slowing the run last season, giving up an average of 128.7 yards per game (26th in the league). D.J. Williams could use some help and McClain would be that and then some. McClain won the Butkus Award last year as the nation's top linebacker and he also served as captain for the nation's top defense.
