NFL Draft 2010: San Francisco is, perhaps, in a better position tonight than any other NFL team. The Forty-Niners have two first round picks (13, 17), which allows them to nab two top-tier talents in the teens or even trade down to pick up what they consider a franchise-type player.

2009 Summary: Finished with an 8-8 record, which was good enough for second place in the NFC West.
2010 San Francisco 49ers Needs: Offensive Tackle, Linebacker, Cornerback, Wide Receiver, Defensive Tackle, Quarterback
Possible First Round Picks:
Dez Bryant (WR – Oklahoma State): Even after acquiring Ted Ginn Jr., San Fran does not have much, other than Michael Crabtree, at wideout. If Bryant is there at 13, the Forty-Niners might take a chance on him. Bryant and Crabtree could be the most dangerous wide receiver tandem in the league for years to come if the former lives up to his potential.
Anthony Davis (OT – Rutgers): Davis, while still a little raw, should be a day one starter at left tackle. However, given the Niners weakness on the right side, they may elect to move him there. Either way, his presence upgrades the line significantly.
Bryan Bulaga (OT – Iowa): Most draft boards have Bulaga ranked ahead of Davis so he may be gone by 13 or 17, but if he is still there, San Fran may go with him over the Scarlet Knight. Bulaga would create the same positive effect as Davis, improving the line and giving the coaching staff more options.
Jimmy Clausen (QB – Notre Dame): Clearly the Niners are not sold on Alex Smith and they probably see Nate Davis primarily in a backup role. Clausen, who most view as the second best quarterback prospect in the draft, might be the long-term answer. Hard to say if they take the leap, though.
