2010 NFL Predictions: The usual suspects dot the landscape of favorites to win the AFC Championship as the NFL season barrels toward its beginning. 2010 NFL Predictions at bookmaker SPORTSBETTING.com have the Colts, Chargers, and Jets listed as the five most likely teams to represent the AFC in the Super Bowl next year.
Indianapolis Colts (+350): The Colts in the role of favorite makes perfect sense given that 
the team has been to the playoffs eight straight years and played in the Super Bowl twice since 2006. Indy was also the prohibitive favorite to beat New Orleans in Super Bowl XLIV after going through the regular season and playoffs with a 16-2 record. The team returns almost all of its starters, including the one that matters most, Peyton Manning.
San Diego Chargers (+500): San Diego, like Indianapolis, has been a perennial playoff squad over the last decade and there is no reason to think they will not return this year. The Chargers are the class of the AFC West, and while it looks like the Chiefs, Raiders, and Broncos are making strides toward respectability, they are still not the equal of San Diego. However, this team has not shown an ability to break through and reach the Super Bowl, and, if anything, this year's roster is weaker than in previous seasons.
New York Jets (+600): The Jets stunned everyone with their strong playoff run last year and signaled to the rest of the AFC that they will be a major force this season. The team did lose some major contributors (i.e. RB Thomas Jones, S Kerry Rhodes, K Jay Feely); however, the front office also brought in some big time talent in CB Antonio Cromartie, LB Jason Taylor, RB LaDainian Tomlinson, and S Brodney Pool. New York should be a playoff team, but its schedule is anything but a cakewalk.
