PROS: Because of the flash and notoriety, the first thing most people think about related to the Cowboys is quarterback Tony Romo and the offense, but the reality is that Dallas wont eh NFC East last season because they had a defense that ranked second in the NFL in points allowed (15.6 PPG) and ninth in yards allowed. Led by All Pro pass rusher DeMarcus Ware and nose tackle Jay Ratliff, the Cowboys were fourth in the league in rushing defense and registered 42 sacks.
The offense showed flashes of greatness, scoring 20 or more points in 11 of 16 games. However, they also struggled to score at key times and must be able to capitalize when they reach scoring position. Romo has developed into a solid NFL quarterback with a number of great weapons including All Pro tight end Jason Whitten and emerging wide receiver Miles Austin. Though running back Marion Barber has not produced All Pro numbers, the combination of Barber, Felix Jones and Tashard Choice gives the Cowboys a trio of runners capable of breaking big plays and pounding out yards.
