Oakland Raiders vs Dallas Cowboys 2010 NFL Preseason Picks, Odds & Predictions: It is a quick preseason turnaround for the Cowboys, which overcame the Bengals on Sunday night in Canton, Ohio. Dallas will host the Oakland Raiders tonight in a 9:00pm ET exhibition showdown at Dallas Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas. 2010 NFL Preseason Picks, Odds & Predictions at SBGglobal.com have the Pokes listed as a -3.5 against the spread home favorite.
Dallas opened the 2010 preseason with a 16-7 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals in the annual Hall of Fame game last
Sunday night. The Cowboys held Cincy to 179 total yards while picking off backup quarterbacks Jordan Palmer and J.T. O'Sullivan a total of three times. Marvin Lewis' offense also struggled on third down converting just two of its 13 opportunities against the 'Boys.
Dallas' defense accounted for the team's lone touchdown, which came on a fourth quarter interception from reserve linebacker Brandon Sharpe.
Offensively Dallas, which covered as a +3 dog, racked up 297 yards, 41 of them courtesy of running back Tashard Choice, who averaged 5.9 yards per carry against the Bengals' reserves. Quarterback Tony Romo completed 5-of-10 passes for 59 yards in one quarter of action. Third string signal caller Stephen McGee, a Texas A&M product, connected on 12 of his 22 pass attempts for a total of 116 yards. McGee, who is entering his second season, figures to see significant playing time the remainder of the preseason as the Cowboys attempt to determine if he is a more than just a project.
Oakland enters tonight's game with a retooled roster, which includes a new starting quarterback in Jason Campbell. Campbell is one of 10 players that the team either traded for or signed as a free agent in the offseason. The Raiders also drafted nine players in April, many of which figure to be major contributors in 2010. First round pick Rolando McClain (LB) and second round pick Lamarr Houston (DT), barring injury, will break camp as starters.
McClain and Houston should see their fair share of minutes this evening, along with fellow rookies Jared Veldheer, Bruce Campbell, Jacoby Ford, and Walter McFadden, as Oakland tries to duplicate last year's 31-10 preseason shellacking of the Cowboys.
2010 NFL Preseason Betting Trend: Dallas is 18-31 against the spread in its last 49 games as a preseason favorite.
