The New England Patriots will finally have two-time Super Bowl MVP QB Tom Brady back. Brady has a 92.9 passer rating, with 26,446 total passing yards and 197 TD’s, but 86 interceptions. Without Brady they managed an 11-5 record and didn’t make the playoffs. Rookie Matt Cassel finished with respectable 21 TD’s after throwing for 3,693 yards. On offense they averaged an 8th ranked 25.6 ppg along with a 5th ranked 365.4 total yards per-game. They ranked 8th in rushing yards averaging 142 yards a game led by RB Sammy Morris who ran for 727 yards with seven TD’S. They ranked 12th in passing averaging 223.1 yards a game led by WR Wes Welker who had 111 catches for 1,165 yards with three TD’s. The Pats defense finished ranked 8th allowing 19.3 ppg after giving up a 10th ranked 308 yards per-game. Against the rush they ranked 15th allowing 107.4 yards per-game, while their 12th ranked pass defense allowed 201 yards a game. Jarod Mayo led the Pats defense with 128 total tackles, 100 solo and 28 assisted.

The Pittsburgh Steelers won Super Bowl XLIII last year over the Arizona Cardinals 27-23. They finished their season with a 12-4 record where they averaged a 20th ranked 21.7 ppg. Their offense averaged a 22nd ranked 312.3 yards per-game, a 23rd ranked 105 rushing yards per-game and a 16th ranked 207 passing yards a game. QB Ben Roethlisberger finished with 17 TD’s on the season throwing for 3,301 yards. Their top rusher on the season was RB Willie Parker who ran for 791 yards with five TD’s, while their top receiver WR Hines Ward finished with seven TD’s for 1,043 yards. The Steelers defense was a brick wall last year. Led by James Farrior who had a total 133 tackles, 87 solo and 46 assisted, while James Harrison was a close second with 101 total tackles, 67 solo and 34 assisted. Troy Polamalu led the Steelers in interceptions with seven on the season. They finished first in points allowed giving up an average 13.9 ppg; they also gave up the least amount of yards giving up 237 yards per-game. They gave up a 2nd ranked 80.3 rushing yards per-game and a 1st ranked 157 passing yards per-game. The Pittsburgh Steelers are listed at +1000 on the moneyline to win back to back Super Bowls.

The San Diego Chargers finished their season with an 8-8 record after losing in the Divisional playoffs to Pittsburgh. QB Phillip Rivers had a great season with 34 TD’s after throwing for 4,009 yards. His offense was ranked 2nd averaging 27.4 ppg, while averaging a 11th ranked 349 total yards per-game. They had a 20th ranked running game that averaged 107 yards a game behind lead RB LaDainian Tomlinson who had 11 TD’s after rushing for 1,110 yards. Their receiving core were ranked 7th averaging 241 yards a game thanks to WR Vincent Jackson who had 59 catches for 1,098 yards with seven TD’s. The Chargers defense finished ranked 15th allowing 21.7 ppg after giving up a 25th ranked 349.9 yards per-game. Against the rush they ranked 11th allowing 102.6 yards per-game, while their 31st ranked pass defense allowed 247 yards a game. Eric Weddle led the Chargers defense with 127 total tackles, 105 solo and 22 assisted. The San Diego Chargers are listed at +1000 on the moneyline to win.
