Denver Broncos vs Cincinnati Bengals 2010 NFL Preseason Picks, Odds & Predictions: The hard luck Broncos open their preseason schedule tonight against the Bengals in the Queen City. This evening's game is scheduled to get underway at 7:00pm ET at Paul Brown Stadium. 2010 NFL Preseason Pick, Odds & Predictions at online bookmaker SBGglobal.com have Cincinnati listed as a -3.5 against the spread home favorite; the game total is set at 32.5.
Denver finished the 2009 season by losing eight of its last 10 games and, thus far, its bad luck has continued into training
camp. Running backs Knowshon Moreno and Correll Buckhalter both suffered minor injuries in the first week of action while defensive end Elvis Dumervil went down for the season with a torn pectoral muscle.
Aside from the injuries issues, the Broncos also have a number of things to work out on the field. While there is not a quarterback controversy at the moment, the potential for one exists with Brady Quinn and first round draft pick Tim Tebow, who will make his NFL debut tonight, pushing incumbant Kyle Orton.
The team also needs to find a replacement for Dumervil as well as wide receiver Brandon Marshall, who was traded to Miami in the offseason. Demaryius Thomas, the team's first overall selection in April's draft, may not fill Marshall's shoes, but he at least needs to be a capable compliment to Eddie Royal.
Cincinnati has far fewer concerns than Denver, despite doubts that it will retain its AFC North title. Still, the Bengals need to work on their passing game, which ranked 26th in the league last season.
The team threw for a meager 153 yards in last week's 7-16 preseason opening loss to the Cowboys in Canton, Ohio. Starting quarterback Carson Palmer completed 2-of-5 passes for 18 yards while his backups, Jordan Palmer and J.T. O'Sullivan, combined to go 14-of-31 for 135 yards, one touchdown and three interceptions.
Cincy's latest addition, wide receiver Terrell Owens, caught two passes for 18 yards in his Bengals debut.
The Bengals starting offense figures to see a little more action tonight, which should help Palmer get on the same page with the new personnel.
2010 NFL Preseason Betting Trend: The Broncos are 1-3 straight up in the preseason under Josh McDaniels.
