Philadelphia Eagles vs Cincinnati Bengals 2010 NFL Preseason Picks, Odds & Predictions: The Philadelphia Eagles are in Cincinnati this evening for a preseason clash with the Bengals at Paul Brown Stadium. Tonight's exhibition contest is scheduled to get underway at 8:00pm ETon FOX. 2010 NFL Preseason Picks, Odds & Predictions at SBGglobal.com have Cincinnati listed as a -3 against the spread home favorite.
Philadelphia eeked out a home victory in its preseason opener, overcoming the Jaguars 28-27. Jacksonville took a 17-16
lead into the break thanks to second quarter touchdown passes of 73 and 30 yards from backup Luke McCown. Despite those big plays, the Eagles produced 16 more first downs and 180 more yards than did the Jags.
Quarterback Kevin Kolb, who is taking over for longtime Philly signal caller Donovan McNabb, completed 6-of-11 passes for 95 yards while second stinger Michael Vick completed 11-of-17 passes for 119 yards and an interception.
Philadelphia, which had 495 yards for the game, limited itself scoring wise by converting just two of its eight red zone opportunites.
Cincinnati followed up its Hall of Fame game loss to Dallas with a 33-24 home win over Denver on Sunday night. The Bengals went into halftime tied 17-17 after David Jones picked off Brady Quinn late in the second quarter and returned it 24 yards for a touchdown.
Carson Palmer played more extensively against the Broncos than he did in the opener, and it paid dividends for the Bengals. The USC product connected on 12 of his 15 pass attempts for 105 yards. While Palmer did not throw a touchdown pass, he finished the night with a stellar 95.8 passer rating.
Rookies Jordan Shipley and Jermaine Gresham performed well in the win too as Shipley reeled in five receptions for 50 yards and Gresham caught three passes for 37 yards.
Cincinnati will probably play its starters well into the second quarter this evening as Head Coach Marvin Lewis indicated earlier in the week that his first string units would play more than they did against Denver. Philly's starters will probably see more time as well; however, Andy Reid may pull his first teamers a little bit sooner considering tonight is just the squad's second preseason outing.
2010 Preseason Betting Trend: The Eagles are 10-1 against the spread in their last 11 week two preseason games.
Philadelphia Eagles +3 (-125), Over 37 (-110)
Cincinnati Bengals -3 (+105), Under 37 (-110)
