Atlanta Falcons: The Falcons were fairly impressive in the first half 
last week, taking a 10-3 lead over the Lions into the break. Quarterback Matt Ryan connected on five of his seven pass attempts for 33 yards and star running back Michael Turner had six carries for 63 yards and a touchdown.
Atlanta's defense was susceptible to yielding big yardage last year and, as of last week, was still having issues with stopping their opposition. Detroit racked up 454 yards (263 through the air, 191 on the ground), but kept the game close by committing nine penalites and tossing an interception.
St. Louis Rams: The Rams scratched out a 23-20 win at the Meadowlands last Friday after trailing 9-10 at halftime. Despite the win, St. Louis definitely left New York with a few concerns. For starters, quarterback Marc Bulger, who was 4-of-4 for 77 yards, broke his pinky finger and is not expected back until week one of the regular season. Secondly, the offensive line, which has been abysmal in the pass protection department for several years, gave up four sacks to the Jets.
A positive for new Head Coach Steve Spagnuolo was the performance of backup running back Samkon Gado. Gado had six carries for 93 yards and a touchdown.
