NFL Preseason Week 2: The Chiefs are in Minneapolis this evening to take on Brett Favre and the Vikings. The 39 year old quarterback signed with Minnesota this week and apparantly Head Coach Brad Childress feels comfortable enough with the situation to let him start tonight. Online bookmaker SBGglobal.com has the Chiefs listed as a +3 against the spread road underdog in their NFL Preseason Week 2: Kansas City Chiefs vs Minnesota Vikings NFL Picks, Odds & Predictions.NFL Preseason Week 2: Kansas City Chiefs vs Minnesota Vikings NFL Picks, Odds & Predictions

Kansas City Chiefs: The Chiefs looked a little disheveled in Head Coach Todd Haley's Arrowhead debut, losing 16-10 to the Houston Texans. Kansas City did have more yardage, both passing and rushing, than the Texans, but they had far too many mistakes. Newly acquired quarterback Matt Cassel and center Rudy Niswanger had a bungled snap that led to a fumble, backup running back Dantrell Savage left one on the turf as well, and last season's lead signal caller, Tyler Thigpen, threw a pick in the second half.

The positives were a five catch, 70 yard performance from wideout Dwayne Bowe and the revamped defense limiting the Texans high powered offense to 280 yards for the game.

Minnesota Vikings: Minnesota made the Colts look futile in their preseason opener, beating Indianapolis at 13-3 at Lucas Oil Stadium. The Vikes vaunted defense held Indy to 142 total yards and eight first downs. Childress' offense racked up 351 yards and 24 first downs and looked particularly strong with quarterback Sage Rosenfels running the show. Rosenfels got the start and completed 10-of-13 passes for 91 yards.

Rosenfels will give way to Brett Favre tonight as the legendary quarterback opted to come out of retirement for a second time. Favre was greeted with glee by Vikings fans this week, but he may still have some work to do to win over his teammates. A solid showing tonight would certainly help instill a little confidence in his cohorts.

Game Notes: This evening's contest is set to kickoff at 8:00pm ET at the Metrodome. Haley has said the Chiefs starters may play the entire first half tonight. Favre is scheduled to play just a series or two.
