St. Louis Rams vs Cleveland Browns 2010 NFL Odds, Picks & Predictions: The St. Louis Rams are in Cleveland this evening to take on the Browns in their second preseason contest. The two teams are scheduled to hit the field at Cleveland Browns Stadium at 7:30pm ET. 2010 NFL Odds, Picks & Predictions at online bookmaker Sportsbook.com have the Browns listed as a -3 against the spread home favorite; this evening's game total is set at 35.5.
St. Louis, unfortunately for Rams fans, began its preseason looking much like the team that went 1-15 last year. Steve
Spagnuolo's bunch got rolled 28-7 by the then Brett Favre-less Vikings last weekend at the Edward Jones Dome.
The Rams produced just eight first downs and a pathetic (even by exhibition standards) 150 total yards. Number one overall pick Sam Bradford looked decent when wasn't running for his life, completing 6-of-13 passes for 57 yards; however, the occasions which he wasn't scrambling to survive were few and far between. The Vikings had six sacks on the evening, three of which came at the expense of Bradford.
Perhaps in the interest of preserving his young signal caller, Spagnuolo did not expose him to the Vikings first team defense last weekend, electing instead to start veteran A.J. Feeley. He will do the same tonight as Bradford is presently penciled in as the second stringer.
St. Louis will be without its starting left tackle, rookie Roger Saffold, this evening after the Indiana product suffered a back injury at practice earlier this week.
Cleveland got a win in its preseason opener, beating the Packers 27-24 at Lambeau Field. The Browns were not as impressive statistically as Green Bay, at least for the game, but they had their way in the first half on offense, scoring three touchdowns.
Quarterback Jake Delhomme led the team on a touchdown drive in his Cleveland debut, completing 6-of-7 passes for 66 yards. Backup Seneca Wallace, also a new member of the team, had a succesful Browns christening as well after connecting on four of his eight pass attempts for 72 yards and two touchdowns. Rookie Colt McCoy did not fare as well, his NFL unveiling being tarnished by two interceptions.
The team's second round pick, Oregon safety T.J. Ward, made a huge splash, though, leading the team in tackles with nine. First round pick Joe Haden also looked good, making three tackles and defending one pass against the Packers starting offense.
