Despite making the playoffs, the Seattle Seahawks had a very disappointing season last year. The major issue was injuries. Their two top offensive players, Matt Hasselbeck and Shaun Alexander both missed significant time due to injuries. When he was on the field, Hasselbeck’s production fell big time with QB rating of 76.0 and 15 interceptions in 13 games. Hasselbeck is still one of the best QB’s in the NFL and has a few dependable targets in Deion Branch, D.J. Hackett and newly signed Marcus Pollard should help. In his seventh season and at 28 years old, Alexander started to show his wear and tear last year. It is doubtful that he will bounce back to his 2005 form but he still has to be considered one of the top 10 running backs in the league. If healthy, the d-line is above decent. But Rocky Bernard Marcus Tubbs each were dinged up last season.

Even newcomer Patrick Kerney missed most of last season with Atlanta. The LB unit is definitely the strength of the defense behind Julian Peterson and Lofa Tatupu. If Seattle can remain relatively healthy, they should be able to win their fourth consecutive West title.
