The Green Bay Packers host the Jacksonville Jaguars in preseason action on Thursday night. Green Bay has defeated Pittsburgh and Seattle in the preseason so far in 2007. Quarterback Brett Favre was 7 of 12 for 74 yards and a touchdown last week while backup Aaron Rodgers was 10 of 16 for 97 yards and two TD’s. Rookie running back Brandon Jackson had 54 yards on 13 carries. Vernand Morency has not been healthy enough to challenge Jackson and probably won’t play on Thursday. Green Bay starters will only go a half on Thursday while Jacksonville starters will play into the third quarter. SBG Global reports that early betting has the public taking the favored Jaguars on the road.

Jacksonville Jaguars at Green Bay Packers
Thursday, 8:00 pm Eastern – FOX
SBG Global Opening Line: Jaguars -3, Total 38.5
Jacksonville will be looking to get quarterback Byron Leftwich some good work on Thursday as he will play into the third quarter. The receiving competition has former Brown’s wide out Dennis Northcutt and Ernest Wilford starting with former starters Matt Jones and Reggie Williams as backups. Leftwich will be looking for wide receiver Charles Sharon who was a big star in the game against Tampa Bay as he caught three passes for 54 yards. “We don’t want to put a limit on how high he can reach. Charles has shown the ability to get into and out of cuts and adjust his body,” head coach Jack Del Rio said of Sharon.
SBG Global Current Line: Jaguars -3 (-105), Total 38The Jaguars are trying to get prepared for the regular season and will go all out against Green Bay. “We need to continue to approach things with a very business-like demeanor. Beyond that, we want to stay healthy. The best way to do that is to go 100 miles an hour,” Del Rio said. Following Leftwich in the quarterback rotation will be David Garrard and Quinn Gray. Leftwich is 13-of-22 for 159 yards with a touchdown during the preseason. First-round draft pick Reggie Nelson (knee) will not play on Thursday.
Green Bay is treating the game on Thursday more like an early game in the preseason instead of a third game. Head coach Mike McCarthy said the team will get more in tune next week. The Packers will go with QB Brett Favre followed by Aaron Rodgers, Ingle Martin and Paul Thompson.
Jacksonville won three years ago against the Packers in the preseason by a score of 9-7.
