NFL Preseason Week 3: The Bengals will host the St. Louis Rams tonight at Paul Brown Stadium in Cincinnati, Ohio. Both teams are 1-1 entering their third preseason contest, but the Bengals have been the more impressive team to this point. St. Louis Rams: The Rams had a miserable showing last Friday night 
at the Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis as the Falcons beat them 20-13. Atlanta did most of its damage to the St. Louis starters, going into the break with a 14-3 lead. Matt Ryan completed 7-of-8 passes for 81 yards and a touchdown while Michael Turner had seven carries for 65 yards and a score.
Offensively, backup quarterback Kyle Boller hit 9-of-16 for 91 yards filling in for the injured Marc Bulger and running back Steven Jackson had three carries for 10 yards.
Head Coach Steve Spagnuolo has indicated that this evening's skirmish will serve as the starting units longest tuneup of the preseason.
"The question will be, do we bring out our first group in the second half? We haven't really decided that," Spagnuolo said. "A lot depends what the total of plays are in a certain point in the game. So We'll see what happens."
Cincinnati Bengals: Marvin Lewis watched his team put together a 7-6 win last Thursday night in Foxboro against the Patriots. Starting quarterback Carson Palmer did not play in the victory as a result of an ankle injury he suffered in the team's loss at New Orleans. He will not suit up for tonight's game against the Rams either.
Backup field general J.T. O'Sullivan filled in admirably for Palmer last week, completing 10-of-13 passes for 141 yards and a touchdown. O'Sullivan is now 19-of-24 for 241 yards and two touchdowns this preseason.
