Philadelphia Eagles vs Kansas City Chiefs 2010 NFL Picks, 2010 NFL Predictions & 2010 NFL Odds: The Philadelphia Eagles are in the Heartland this evening for a preseason dust up with the Chiefs. The game is set to get underway at 8:00pm ET at the Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City. 2010 NFL Picks, Predictions & Odds at Sportsbook.com have the Eagles listed as a -1.5 against the spread road favorite and the game total set at 37.
Philadelphia fell to 1-1 in exhibition action last week with a 9-22 loss to the Bengals in Cincinnati. The Eagles trailed 6-7 at
halftime in spite of a nice performance from quarterback Kevin Kolb, who completed 11-of-17 passes for 126 yards. Kolb's outing, coupled with DeSean Jackson's four catch, 74 yard night, were the lone offensive bright spots for the offense, which concluded the night with 13 first downs (2-for-15 on third down), 270 yards, and five turnovers (two interceptions each from Michael Vick and rookie signal caller Mike Kafka).
Philly's defense did not fare much better as the Bengals racked up 20 first downs and 345 yards; however, the unit did pick off Carson Palmer two times. First round pick Brandon Graham also tempered the loss, recording three tackles and a sack in his NFL debut.
Kansas City's preseason record fell to 0-2 last weekend with a 15-20 loss to the Buccaneers in Tampa Bay. Other than a first quarter fumble by running back Thomas Jones, the Chiefs first team offense had its way against the Bucs as Matt Cassel completed 14-of-19 passes for 125 yards and a touchdown. Jamaal Charles continued his solid preseason too, rushing five times for 26 yards while catching three passes for 23 yards.
The Chiefs defense got burned by a 53 yard touchdown pass in the second quarter, but held Tampa Bay to 13 first downs, a 3.8 yards per carry average, and 25:05 minutes of possession time for the evening. However, Kansas City's pass rushing woes continued as the team failed to record a sack for a second straight game.
Rookies Eric Berry, the fourth overall pick in April's draft, and Javier Arenas had nice showings in the setback. Berry ranked second on the team with four tackles while Arenas, who had a 99 yard touchdown return called back in the Chiefs week one loss to Atlanta, setup KC's first quarter score with a 54 yard kickoff return.
2010 NFL Preseason Betting Trend: We'll just keep trotting this out there because it seems to hold up week in and out – the Chiefs are 0-6 straight up and against the spread in the preseason under Head Coach Todd Haley. The Under is 5-1 in the Chiefs last six preseason outings and 5-0 in their last week three preseason contests.
