Cincinnati Bengals vs Indianapolis Colts 2010 NFL Odds, Picks & Predictions

by Matt Foust on Thursday, September 2nd, 2010

Cincinnati Bengals vs Indianapolis Colts 2010 NFL Odds, 2010 NFL Picks & 2010 NFL Predictions: The Indianapolis Colts will look to get off the preseason snide tonight as they host the Bengals at Lucas Oil Stadium. The exhibition finale is scheduled to kickoff at 7:00pm ET. 2010 NFL Odds, Picks & Predictions at SBGglobal.com have Cincinnati listed as a -6.5 against the spread road favorite and the Over/Under set at 36.

The Colts have not been a good preseason team in recent years, but that has not affected their performance in the regularCincinnati Bengals vs Indianapolis Colts 2010 NFL Odds, Picks & Predictions season as Indy has won at least 12 games the last seven years. Despite the "success when it counts" precedent being on the side of the Colts, the fact that the team has allowed 43.3 points per game in its three exhibition contests has to be disturbing to Head Coach Jim Caldwell.

Indianapolis got completely embarrassed in its last outing as Aaron Rodgers and the Packers blasted the Colts 59-24 at Lambeau Field. Peyton Manning and the offense did plenty of good things, racking up 389 yards in 22:52 time of possession, but their performance paled in comparison to Green Bay's effort. The Packers accumulated 33 first downs and 430 yards as the team's three quarterbacks combined to go 33-for-47 for 337 yards and five touchdowns.

While Caldwell may not care about a win this evening (no Colts starters will play a snap tonight), he would have to be disappointed with another horrendous defensive outing.

Considering the Bengals have already played four preseason games, it is difficult to envision Head Coach Marvin Lewis letting his starters go longer than a series or two this evening. The first stringers saw plenty of action in Cincinnati's loss to the Bills last Saturday with Carson Palmer and company playing into the second quarter. Palmer finished the night 9-of-11 for 95 yards and two touchdowns as he connected on scoring strikes of nine and six yards.

Several Cincinnati rookies played well in the loss, including first round pick Jermaine Gresham, who had four catches for 45 yards and a score, and Jordan Shipley, who turned in a five catch night. Linebacker Roderick Muckelroy, a fourth round pick out of Texas, led the team in tackles with six.
