NFL Preseason Week 4: Two of the more unimpressive squads from the 2009 NFL preseason will face each other this evening at Jacksonville Stadium. The Jaguars and Redskins are set to mix it up tonight at 7:30pm ET. NFL Preseason Week 4: Washington Redskins vs Jacksonville Jaguars NFL Picks, Odds & Predictions at SBGglobal.com have Jim Zorn's team listed as a +5 against the spread road dog.
Washington Redskins: The Redskins had their most notable offensive
performance last Friday in a 24-27 loss to New England. Washington's first team offense scored its first touchdown of the exhibition season and did enough in the first half to make it a 17-17 score at the break.
Quarterback Jason Campbell completed 13-of-22 passes for 209 yards. Campbell connected with tight end Chris Cooley two times for 87 yards while targeting wide out Santana Moss five times for 56 yards.
The Redskins defense did not have a stirring first half as Tom Brady engineered two 70 plus yard touchdown drives against it. Brady finished the day 12-of-19 for 150 yards and two touchdowns. Randy Moss, who was at the receiving end of Brady's touchdown tosses, had six catches for 90 yards.
Jacksonville Jaguars: Jack Del Rio's club will attempt to get off the preseason snide tonight for the last time. The Jags fell to 0-3 last Thursday night, losing 33-32 to the Eagles in Philadelphia. Two first half fumble return touchdowns by Jacksonville made the score closer than it appeared. In reality, the Jaguars effort was far more suspect.
The offense accounted for a paltry 230 yards and three turnovers while the team had 12 penalites. The Eagles, meanwhile, racked up 431 yards of offense despite turning the ball over three times.
Quarterback David Garrard had another ho-hum outing, completing 8-of-14 passes for 93 yards and a touchdown.
Washington Redskins +5 (-110), Over 35 (-110)
Jacksonville Jaguars -5 (-110), Under 35 (-110)
