The Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rogers has seen little play time as backup to Bret Favre, he’s thrown 59 passes with one touchdown during his three years. But he’ll have an excellent receiving core to help make things a little easier. WR Donald Driver and WR Greg Jennings finished with more than 900 yards last season, while Jennings, in his second year, had 12 touchdowns. A pair of speedy wideouts, second year man, James Jones and rookie Jordy Nelson should help. RB Ryan Grant is their go to guy on the ground, he finished with 956 rushing yards along with eight touchdowns as a rookie. The Packers should get some help from their defense. They had the second lowest points per game total in the NFC, allowing a low 18 points per game. Defensive end Aaron Kampman leads the NFC with a combined 27 ½ sacks over the last two seasons. "I think we're going to be tough to run on, tough to pass on," defensive tackle Ryan Pickett said. "I think we'll be a top defense in the NFL."
The Minnesota Vikings are hoping on another successful year for RB Adrian Pederson, he finished last season with 1,341 rushing yards along with 13 touchdowns. But unfortunately, during his last two games against the Packers rush defense he was held to a low 157 yards. The Viking defense was the hardest to run against last year, giving up an average 74 yards per game. So to combat their rush defense their opponents took to the air, where they gave up an average 264 pass yards per game. They solidified their defense with the addition of Jared Allen who led the NFL with 15 1/2 sacks last season with Kansas City. He’ll join Pro Bowler tackles Kevin Williams and Pat Williams to give Minnesota one of the best defensive fronts in the game.
