All the talk comes to end tonight as the Vikings look to correct a perceived wrong in the Bayou. Minnesota lost to 
New Orleans 28-31 in January's NFC Championship Game, despite outgaining the Saints 475 yards to 257. Ironically, it was the Vikings biggest star, Brett Favre, that allowed New Orleans the opportunity to prevail as he threw two interceptions and lost a fumble.
Favre, who returned to Minnesota late in the summer after another offseason spent contemplating retirement, did not exactly light things up in the preseason. The future Hall of Famer completed 17-of-27 passes for 200 yards and two interceptions in two exhibition games. However, Favre has proven himself on the big stage time and again, and it is almost a certainty that he will do something spectacular in this evening's contest.
The same holds true for Drew Brees, who went on to win Super Bowl MVP honors after the Saints narrow win over the Vikings. Brees had plenty of big moments last season, including the five touchdown strikes (zero interceptions) he threw in the NFC Championship and Super Bowl.
The former Purdue Boilermaker looks poised to pick up where he left off after completing 32-of-50 passes for 331 yards and two touchdowns in the preseason. New Orleans' offense also appears ready to roll after averaging 390 yards and 30.5 points per game in four exhibition outings.
In order for the Saints potent offense to keep things churning tonight, though, it must do what it did the last time these two teams met, which is keep Brees upright. Minnesota, which led the league in sacks last season with 48, took Brees down just one time.
