Cincinnati Bengals vs New England Patriots 2010 NFL Odds, 2010 NFL Picks, & 2010 NFL Predictions: The New England Patriots welcome the defending AFC North Champion Cincinnati Bengals to Foxborough, Massachusetts this afternoon for a week one battle at Gillette Stadium. The game is scheduled to get underway at 1:00pm ET on CBS. 2010 NFL Odds, Picks & Predictions at BetOnline.com have the Pats listed as a -4.5 against the spread home favorite and the Over/Under set at 45.

The Patriots, amazingly, have flown somewhat under the radar this preseason. New England owes that luxury to Jets Head Cincinnati Bengals vs New England Patriots 2010 NFL Odds, Picks, & PredictionsCoach Rex Ryan and his incessant need to heap Super Bowl like praise on his team. The role must feel awkward to Tom Brady and company, but they can quickly assume a new one if they put on an impressive show against the Bengals this afternoon.

New England, which went 2-2 during the preseason, will, no doubt, be out to prove to the Jets and everyone else that they are still the team to beat in the AFC East. Bill Belichick's squad could have something to prove to its self as well after falling on its face at home to the Ravens in last year's playoffs. While New England would probably never admit it, the bitter taste of that loss is probably still lingering, particularly for Brady, who tossed three interceptions.

Cincinnati also enters this game and season with something to prove after having last year's North title roundly discounted as an aberration. A win over the Patriots at Gillette Stadium would definitely raise a few eyebrows and, perhaps, force a few naysayers to acknowledge that the Bengals were no pretender to the divisional throne.

The team should be improved this season if its defense continues to play at the same level it did last year as quarterback Carson Palmer has a few new weapons to utilize on offense. Cincinnati signed wide receiver Terrell Owens over the summer and it also drafted two receiving threats in tight end Jermaine Gresham and wide out Jordon Shipley.

2010 NFL Odds Betting Trend: New England is 9-1 straight up and 7-3 against the spread in its last 10 games as a home favorite with a spread between 4 and 7.5 and total between 44.5 and 47.
