Giants Breakdown: New York looked to be on auto-pilot to a second Super Bowl title last season when the wheels came off in three of their final four games. The downward trend continued into the post-season as Tom Coughlin's club got knocked off at home against the Eagles in the divisional playoff.
Despite the wretched finish to last year, this team has the makeup to bounce back, which almost always appears to be easier once a club has grabbed a title. New York went just 1-3 in the preseason, but Eli Manning and the first teamers looked regular season ready.
The Giants have the advantage today, not only in field, but also in personnel. Washington, much like last year, will have trouble moving the ball against New York's defense. This will make the Redskins one dimensional as the game wears on and that is never a good thing against a defensive line the calibur of the Giants.
