Cleveland Browns vs Indianapolis Colts Spreads NFL Week 2 Predictions: The Indianapolis Colts aren’t looking good as they get set to host the Cleveland Browns, Sunday Sept 18th, without Peyton Manning again. The Browns have never beaten the Colts in their history (0-5) but have the perfect chance in Week 2. NFL oddsmakers have the Browns as -2 point road favorites over the Colts with the over/under set at 37.5 points. Cleveland (0-1) QB Colt McCoy threw two TD passes for the Browns during their 17-27 home loss to Cincinnati. The Browns looked disorganized for much of Pat Shurmur's first game as coach. The Browns managed just 285 yards in total offense, including 83 on the ground. Despite their loss, the Browns aren’t going to repeat this performance against the Colts, though they will not blow out the Colts. A team like the Browns, who, granted, aren't one of the biggest offensive powerhouses in the NFL, can still easily take advantage of the Colts' slumping defense and devise a game plan to exploit that weakness. Without an effective defense and an offense that can compensate for it, the Colts are doomed to lose every week, and I don't see them winning against the Browns next Sunday. The Bengals only pulled off the win over Cleveland when the Browns defense crumbled at the very end of the contest. It doesn't seem probable that the Colts will be able to repeat that performance next week.
Indianapolis (0-1) looked lost without star QB Peyton Manning during their 7-34 season-opening rout Sunday, in Houston. Manning, the NFL's only four-time MVP, didn't even travel with the Colts to Houston as he recovers from his third neck surgery in the past 19 months. The Colts lured 38-year-old Collins out of retirement less than three weeks ago to take a crash course in the offense, and that looked like a bad option in the opener. They were erratic on offense, porous on defense and not nearly good enough on special teams. Collins lost first-quarter fumbles on consecutive plays inside the Colts 20-yard line. "It was one of those days. The good thing is, there's no question I believe it's all correctible. And also the good thing is that's the first ballgame. We've got 15 more to go."
