San Diego Chargers vs New England PatriotsThe New England Patriots will be glad to focus on football Sunday night instead of the video tape controversy that has plagued them all week. The Patriots play host to the San Diego Chargers in a rematch of last year’s divisional playoff game that New England rallied to win 24-21. SBG Global reports that early betting has the public taking the favored Patriots at home.

The Patriots have faced a controversy this week over illegally taping New York Jets’ defensive signals in last week’s game. Head coach Bill Belichick now has to worry about facing LaDainian Tomlinson and the San Diego Chargers on Sunday night. And the Patriots will be facing a very determined San Diego squad that wants revenge for last season. After the game last year Ellis Hobbs and other Patriots danced on the Chargers logo at midfield. Tomlinson was extremely upset. "I would never react in that way. I was very upset," Tomlinson said. "When you go to the middle of our field and start doing the dance Shawne Merriman is known for, that is disrespectful. They showed no class and maybe that comes from the head coach."

The Chargers opened the season with a 14-3 victory over the Chicago Bears while New England routed the Jets 38-14. The Patriots are not getting much credit for the win now with the video tape controversy hanging over them. The Patriots did seem to know everything the Jets were going to do and Tom Brady took advantage throwing for 297 yards and three TD’s, completing 22 of 28. New acquisition Randy Moss had nine catches for 183 yards.

One streak will end on Sunday night. The Patriots have won six straight home openers while the Chargers have won 11 consecutive regular season games since Week 8 of last year. The Chargers also won at New England two years ago 41-17.
