NFL Week 2 Predictions on the Jacksonville Jaguars vs San Diego Chargers Betting Odds: The San Diego Chargers hope home field will be advantageous as they host the Jacksonville Jaguars, Sunday Sept 19. San Diego has won five consecutive games at home. NFL oddsmakers at BETUS.com have the Chargers as -7.5 point home favorites over the Jaguars while the game's total has been posted at 45.5 points. The Jaguars beat Denver 24-17 at home in Week 1. QB David Garrard comes in off one of his best games after completing 16 of 21 passes for 170 yards with three TD’s. WR Mike Thomas had a career-high 89 receiving yards after making six catches. RB Maurice Jones-Drew had 23 carries for 98 yards. The Jacksonville defense appears improved since last year. Their secondary still looked shaky but Martin Kampmann has solidified a line that generated a pass rush and forced some mistakes . Jacksonville is 5-11 SU on the road in the last two seasons. Their trips out west last year saw them get blown out by a combined score of 61-3 – ugly. Although the Jags are improved, they are still a tier or two below the Chargers. San Diego is a pissed off bunch and will take out their anger on the Jags this week. Tiquan Underwood ranks second in the NFL with a 38.3-yard kick return average.

The Chargers lost in Kansas City 14-21 after QB Phillip Rivers 22 passes for 298 yards and two TD’s couldn’t stop the Chiefs. The Chargers maintain their quest to prove Pro Bowler WR Vincent Jackson and T Marcus McNeill are non-essential commodities. Naanee made five catches for 110 yards with a TD, while Gates made five for 76 yards with a TD. The Chargers got little, in not any, production from RB Darren Sproles as he had five carries for three yards and made two catches for two yards.  Sure, it was a bad game. But as team Captain Nick Hardwick said, “It’s nothing they can’t correct.” San Diego has won five consecutive games at home, while TE Antonio Gates leads all NFL tight ends with 35 touchdown catches since 2006.
