Mike Shanahan's defense, despite giving up 24 first downs and 380 yards to Dallas, did enough to get the win. Not only did the unit draw a holding penalty that nullified a last second Cowboys touchdown, it also scored Washington's only touchdown, a 32 yard fumble return just before the half (DeAngelo Hall).
Today's game marks just the third meeting between these two franchises. The Redskins hold a 2-0 lead in the rarely played series after beating the Texans 26-10 in 2002 and 31-15 in 2006.
