Miami Dolphins vs Cleveland Browns Spreads NFL Week 3 Predictions Miami (0-2) lost in Week 2, 13-23 at home, to Houston. RB Daniel Thomas rushed for 107 yards in his NFL debut, but QB Chad Henne went 12 for 30 and was especially erratic in the red zone. Miami's sieve-like pass defense was no match for Andre Johnson and Matt Schaub, who threw for 230 yards and had a passer rating of 118.5. Johnson made seven catches for 93 yards. The Dolphins committed two turnovers, had a 22-yard field-goal attempt blocked and missed a 34-yarder to fall to 0-2 for the fifth time in the past six years. They're 1-11 at home since late 2009. As for the Dolphins, it was the second consecutive week CB Vonte Davis couldn’t stay on the field. After leaving the opener with cramps, Davis missed most of Sunday’s fourth quarter with an ailing hamstring. He declined to comment after the game, saying only that he was “good,” before shuffling out of the locker room. Davis is the Dolphins’ best cornerback. This means backup CB Nolan Carroll, the second-year reserve, is not. If Davis can’t stay healthy, it will be a “Pick on the new guy” mentality.

Cleveland (1-1) won in Indianapolis, 27-19 in Week 2. QB Colt McCoy was 22-of-32 passing for 211 yards and one TD. RB Peyton Hillis rushed for 94 yards and two touchdowns as the Browns beat the Colts for the first time in five tries. The key for the Browns offense is Hillis, as they rely on him to ware down the defenses with his strong runs and repeatedly converted in short-yardage situations to help the Browns play keepaway. The best part of McCoy's game was his ability to throw on the run. His 16-yard touchdown pass to TE Evan Moore highlighted this point. This is huge because it will allow him to avoid sacks behind a sometimes inconsistent offensive line. McCoy also didn't turn the ball over. The Browns are more dangerous when Josh Cribbs has the ball in his hands. His 52-yard kickoff return set up the Browns' first touchdown. His 43-yard punt return led to Cleveland's fourth-quarter touchdown. If they can get the same protection for McCoy and let their running game go, they could get the win.
