Monday Night Football: Indianapolis Colts vs Miami Dolphins NFL Picks, NFL Odds & NFL Predictions: The Colts are in Miami tonight to take on the Dolphins at Land Shark Stadium. Indy will rule the roost in the AFC South with a win while the Dolphins will draw even with the Pats and Bills should they take out the Colts. Kickoff is scheduled for 8:30pm ET on ESPN's Monday Night Football. NFL Picks at Sportsbetting.com have the Colts listed as a -3 against the spread Monday Night Football favorite.
Colts Breakdown: Indianapolis got new Head Coach Jim Caldwell a
win in his maiden NFL voyage last Sunday, beating division rival Jacksonville 14-12. The score was not indicative of Indy's dominance as the Colts finished -2 in turnovers.
Quarterback Peyton Manning led Indianapolis to 365 yards after completing 28-of-38 passes for 301 yards and a touchdown. Manning hooked up with wide receiver Reggie Wayne 10 times for 162 yards and one score.
The ground game contributed just 71 (2.3 yards per carry) as Joseph Addai led the team with 42 yards in 17 carries.
The Colts defense held the Jags miserable offense to 228 yards and 12 first downs. Jacksonville did achieve some balance offensively, unfortunatley for Jack Del Rio, that balanced equated to 114 pass yards and 114 rush yards. Indy recorded just one sack in the victory (Dwight Freeney), but it did have six hits on David Garrard.
Dolphins Breakdown: Miami fell last week by a score of 19-7 in Atlanta. The Dolphins offense managed to do little against the Falcons defense, generating 16 first downs, 259 yards, and four third down conversions. However, their poor numbers were a result of their inability to hang on to the ball. Miami tight Anthony Fasano had two lost fumbles and quarterback Chad Pennington had a lost fumble and an interception.
Pennington, other than the pick, had a nice outing, completing 21-of-29 passes for 179 yards and a touchdown.
Miami's defense did a great job holding the Falcons in check, especially after the offense afforded Matt Ryan and company so many scoring opportunities. Atlanta managed 281 yards, but just 68 of that total came on the ground as Michael Turner had 22 carries for 65 yards.
NFL Picks Betting Trend: Tonight's situation (a road favorite of -3 or less, coming off a home win, playing on a Monday night), amazingly, has only occurred three times over the past five seasons. The Under is 3-0 in the, apparantly, rare circumstance. The average game score = 30.3.
Indianapolis Colts -3 (-130), Over 42.5 (-110), -170 (Moneyline)
Miami Dolphins +3 (+110), Under 42.5 (-110), +150 (Moneyline)
