The Houston Texans rebounded nicely in Week 2 with a win over Tennessee, while the Jacksonville Jaguars have dropped two straight to open their season. The Texans play host to the Jaguars, Sunday Sept 27, at Reliant Stadium. Home team has won their last two meetings. NFL oddsmakers at Sportsbook.com have the Texans as -3.5 point home favs over the Jaguars with the over/under set at 46.5 points. The Jaguars (0-2) lost to Arizona 17-31 at home in Week 2. QB David Garrard made just 23 of 43 passes for 282 yards with two TD’s and an interception. Their top runner on the day was RB Maurice Drew-Jones with 13 carries for 66 yards, while WR Mike Sims-Walker had six catches for 106 yards with a TD. The Jags pass defense struggled big time, allowing Cardinals QB Kurt Warner to set an NFL single-game record for completion percentage, at 92.3 %. If you’re going up against the arm of Texans QB Matt Schaub you better get your pass rush in high gear. Once known as a defensive power house the Jags are nothing but. They already give up the 24th most total yards a game followed by the 26th ranked most pass yards allowed. Their only source of offense is their running game, which isn’t great, they average a 19th ranked 103 yards per-game.

The Texans (2-0) beat Tennessee 34-31 on the road in Week 2. They rebounded nicely after scoring only seven points against the Jets in Week 1 as QB Matt Schaub showed off his arm against the Titans. He made 25 of 39 passes for 357 yards with four TD ‘s. 10 of those 25 passes made went to WR Andre Johnson, who finished with 149 yards and two touchdowns. RB Steve Slayton was keep in check as he only had 17 carries for 34 yards. On defense they struggle, but when you can put up points it can even out. If they can improve against the rush and not give up a league high 455 total yards a game they can compete with the Colts in the AFC South. They already have the ninth best passing game to go along with their 13th ranked total points scored. If they can get RB Steve Slayton going it will even out their offense confusing opponents defenses.
