NFL Spreads Week 3: The fact that Tony Romo carried the Cowboys to their first win of the season despite a fractured rib and a punctured lung has gotten the attention of everyone around the league. But while some praise Romo for his courageous, gutsy performance, others simply see it as a great weakness to expose come Sunday.

This week, as the (1-1-0) Dallas Cowboys [-3] prepare to face the NFL Point Spreads underdog (2-0-0) Washington Redskins [+3] in an NFC East battle, Romo’s ribs are looking more like a piece of steak for the Skins defense. According to reports, 3-time Pro Bowl cornerback, DeAngelo Hall has publicly expressed his desire to inflict more damage to Romo’s broken rib.

The reigning Pro Bowl MVP spoke to reporters on Wednesday, expressing to them that his game-plan is to go after Romo’s injury and take him out. The Cowboys and Redskins are scheduled to kickoff on primetime Monday Night live from Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The OVER/UNDER for this game is set at a combined total of 45 point and you can catch all the action live on ESPN.

“Absolutely, I want to get a chance to put my helmet on whatever’s hurt,” Hall said. “Romo’s ribs—I’m going to be asking for some corner blitzes. If I know Felix Jones’ shoulder’s hurt, I’m not going to cut him. I’m definitely going to try to hit him up high, so that’s just part of it.

“If you know something’s wrong with an opponent, you’re going to try to target in on that. We’re going to try to definitely get as many hats on that team as possible.”

At this point it is unclear as to whether Romo will take the field on Monday at home versus the Skins. Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett told reporters that he remains optimistic that his starting QB will indeed play despite the injury. It’s going to be interesting to see if the decision to play Romo injured will end up backfiring, especially considering the fact that Hall will not be the only guy going after his ribs.

“I think he’s doing fine,” Garrett said. “He got knocked around a little bit on Sunday, but he’s getting his rehab and hopefully he’ll be ready to play for this ballgame. We’ll take it day to day, the next few days.”
