The Giants (2-0) won in Dallas 33-31 in Week 2. QB Eli Manning had ample time to find his receivers thanks to his O-line. He made 25 of 38 passes for 330 yards with two TD’s. WR’s Mario Manningham and Steve Smith combined for 20 receptions for 284 yards and two touchdowns. The Giants came into the season with questions about their receiving corps, but Manningham and Smith are emerging as reliable targets for Manning. RB Brandon Jacobs had 16 carries for 58 yards, while RB Ahmad Bradshaw had nine carries for 37 yards. Of the four turnovers by the Cowboys the Giants gained 24 points. That’s how you play football. The Giants offense is already ranked sixth best in total yards, fifth best in passing yards and seventh best at points scored. They are all about offense, despite a minor struggle in their running department. Their defense gave up a lot of running ground to Dallas and they’ll look to improve on that, against the pass they are third best and are average at total yards allowed. The Giants are like a fine wine, they get better with age.

The Buccaneers (0-2) lost in Buffalo 20-33 in Week 2. QB Byron Leftwich made 26 of 50 passes for 296 yards with three TD’s, but it wasn’t enough. The Bucs committed 13 penalties for 112 yards, ultimately costing them the game. RB Derrick Ward had nine carries for a measly 32 yards, while top TE Kelley Winslow had seven catches for 90 yards with a TD. The Bucs generated 19 first downs, 13 passing and four rushing and made 4 of 16 third down conversions. They are getting offense with a fourth ranked total yards a game, while having the sixth best passing game. But, it’s their defense that costs them games. They gave up 218 yards rushing and 220 yards passing to Buffalo. If they can’t get their defense in gear they won’t be anywhere near a playoff berth.
