2011 NFL Week 3 Picks: One of the best and safest bets many people seem to be overlooking this 2011 NFL Week 3 Picks is in the matchup between Baltimore and St. Louis. As expected, the visiting Ravens [-4] will go into this game as the NFL Point Spreads favorites to defeat the winless Rams [+4]. Not only do I love those NFL Point Spreads for betting on the Ravens, but I also think they’re quite generous.
Despite being on the road, I fully expect Baltimore to absolutely demolish St. Louis come Sunday. This game’s opening kickoff is slated for 4 PM ET live from Edward Jones Dome. According to NFL Point Spreads experts, the projected OVER/UNDER between the Ravens and Rams is set at a combined total of 42½ points scored.
After starting the season by humiliating the rival Steelers, 35-7 in Week 1, Baltimore took a step back in its development. Coming off a very disappointing loss to Tennessee is the absolute worst thing that could have happened for the Rams and their hopes of winning their first game this season. As a result, I expect nothing less than a blowout in favor of the Black Birds in this one.
The key to the Ravens victory will be their ability to get Ray Rice involved early. His ability to run the ball effectively will open things up for Joe Flacco to take some shots down the field. Be ready to see at least one huge play in the Ravens’ passing game on Sunday and also expect Rice to surpass the 100-yard mark.
In addition, Baltimore’s defense should have its way against a Rams’ offensive attack assuming everyone will be healthy. I expect Sam Bradford to be picked off at least twice in this game, and the Ravens will win a laugher on the road. One thing to keep an eye out for is injuries on the Ravens defense.
Limited in practice this week for the Ravens were: (CB) Chris Carr (Thigh), (DT) Terrence Cody (Head), (DE) Cory Redding (Toe). Those who did not practice on the Ravens squad this week include: (WR) Lee Evans (Ankle) (G) Ben Grubbs (Toe), (WR) David Reed (Shoulder) and (CB) Jimmy Smith (Ankle).
