Week 3’s Sunday Night Football game features a showdown of two conference superpowers as the Baltimore Ravens host the New England Patriots, who have won two straight over the Ravens. It’s a rematch of a classic AFC Championship Game from last season, in which the Pats won 23-20. Here are the NFL Point Spreads for Week 3’s Sunday Night Football Game. Vegas sportsbooks think the Ravens have the upper-hand here, as the Ravens are listed as -3 point home favorites against the spread with the over/under set at 49.5 points. We recommend you check out the latest NFL Point Spreads heading into the third week of the 2012 NFL season.
New England (1-1) is fresh off a stunning home loss in which Arizona stymied the normally dynamic New England offense. Now, the Pats will face a complex defensive scheme that has always given them problems.
The Patriots believe Ravens QB Joe Flacco will cause them problems on Sunday night. While he may not have prolific passing numbers from week to week, Flacco will be the best and most experienced quarterback the Patriots have faced to this point in the season. He will likely be better than both Tennessee’s Jake Locker and Arizona’s Kevin Kolb, and will provide the Patriots with a legitimate test.
The Patriots announced Wednesday that Kellen Winslow had been signed, and with Aaron Hernandez expected to be out indefinitely with an ankle injury, there should be an opportunity for the nine-year veteran to make a contribution.

Baltimore (1-1) QB Joe Flacco had a tough Week 2 in which he was 22-for-42 for 232 yards with a touchdown and an interception. The Ravens have scored 44 and 23 points the first two games. Standout running back Ray Rice is still waiting for his first 100-yard game of the season (he had 99 in last Sunday’s 24-23 loss to the Eagles), but he is averaging 6.4 yards per carry, and Mayo knows he’s capable of getting big gains quickly.
The Ravens’ secondary is among the NFL’s best, with the likes of Ed Reed, Bernard Pollard, Lardarius Webb and Cary Williams. A.J. Green of the Cincinnati Bengals was held to 70 yards on five receptions. Even though Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick passed for 371 yards, his blazing-fast receiving corp of DeSean Jackson and Jeremy Maclin combined for nine catches and 137 yards.
