ttsburgh (1-1) bounced back from a horrific opening-week loss with a 24-0 rout of the Seattle Seahawks in Week 2. WR Mike Wallace caught eight passes for 126 yards and a score, and RB Rashard Mendenhall ran for 67 yards and a TD for the Steelers, who limited the listless Seahawks to 164 total yards. One week after committing seven turnovers while being whipped by the rival Baltimore Ravens, the Steelers worked with relentless efficiency against the Seahawks. Roethlisberger shook off a gimpy right knee to complete 22 of 30 passes as Pittsburgh had little trouble doing whatever it wanted on either side of the ball. Ben Roethlisberger completed 22 of 30 and threw for 298 yards and one touchdown. WR Mike Wallace has back-to-back 100-yard games, extending his streak to five in the regular season dating to Dec. 19, 2010. He has eight receptions in each of the first two games.
Indianapolis (0-2) lost 19-27, at home, to Cleveland in Week 2. Without star QB Peyton Manning, the Colts just don't look like themselves. They are 0-2 for the first time since 1998 and never seriously challenged the Browns after falling behind 14-9 late in the first half. QB Kerry Collins, Manning's replacement, started 9-of-12 passing Sunday, but he finished 19 of 38 for 191 yards and one TD with one interception. He also lost one fumble. In Kerry Collins’ second start, Indy could not punch the ball into the end zone until the final 24 seconds. Collins, who came out of retirement to replace Manning, committed two costly four-quarter turnovers and completed only 50 percent of his passes (19 of 38, 191 yards) against a defense that doesn’t conjure up memories of the ’85 Bears. Manning has twice visited Indianapolis' practices this week, but unless he winds up taking snaps from center Jeff Saturday later this fall, the television networks may be in for some serious mismatches.
