The Chicago Bears started the season in spectacular fashion by beating the Colts in Indianapolis. Since that victory, the Bears have fallen to the Panthers and the Buccaneers by a combined six points. Lovie Smith's team will need to regroup in a hurry as they will face a tough Eagles team this week on Sunday Night Football.
The Bears looked liked they had things in hand last week against the Buccaneers, but they could not keep Brian Griese under contol in the second half. The Bucs forced the game into overtime and secured the win once they were there by driving 90 yards in 12 plays to get a chip shot field goal. The Bears did produce 405 yards of offense and they continued to display their prowess on the ground by averaging 4.3 yards per carry as a team.
The Eagles recovered from their Monday night loss in Dallas to get a 15-6 win over the Steelers at home. The game was an ugly contest that featured just 440 yards of offense and six turnovers. The Eagles pressuring defense dominated the Steelers offensive line and held Pittsburgh to just 147 total yards. The offense did just enough preserve the win, inspite of injuries to Donovan McNabb and Brain Westbrook.
NFL Predictions Trend: The Under is 7-3 the last 10 times the Bears have been featured as a home dog with a total between 37 and 41.
Eagles -3 (-115), Over 40 (-110), -165 (Money line)
Bears +3 (-105), Under 40 (-110), +145 (Money line)
