Kansas City Chiefs vs Philadelphia Eagles NFL Predictions, Odds & Picks

by Matt Foust on Sunday, September 27th, 2009

Kansas City Chiefs vs Philadelphia Eagles NFL Predictions, NFL Odds & NFL Picks: The Philadelphia Eagles will make a go of it again without quarterback Donovan McNaab, hoping for a better result than the one they got last weekend. At least they get to host the Chiefs today rather than the Saints. The two teams will kick things off at 1:00pm ET at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia (CBS). NFL Predictions at Bookmaker.com have the Chiefs listed as a +7.5 against the spread road dog.

Chiefs Breakdown: Kansas City defied the laws of God, physics, and football last week in losing 10-13 at Arrowhead to arch Kansas City Chiefs vs Philadelphia Eagles NFL Predictions, Odds & Picksrival Oakland. The Chiefs had 243 more yards than the Raiders, they had 14 more first downs, they had 106 more rush yards, and they possessed the ball 17:18 longer than did Oakland and still lost the game. Untimely penalties and two interceptions doomed them to their 25th defeat in their last 27 games.

Quarterback Matt Cassel had a less tham scintillating debut for his new franchise, completing 24-of-39 passes for 241 yards, a touchdown, and two picks.

While KC's offense repeatedly shot itself in the foot, the defense stymied the Raiders until late in the fourth when Darren McFadden punched it in the endzone from five yards out.

Eagles Breakdown: Philly's offense racked up plenty of yards without McNaab in the lineup, 463 to be exact, but they still fell 48-22 at home to the high-powered Saints. The Eagles defense could not keep Drew Brees and company in check, which forced an inexperienced Kevin Kolb to air it out in an attempt to bring his team back. Kolb finished the day 31-for-51 for 391 yards, two touchdowns, and three interceptions.

McNaab will be out again today as he continues to recover from a cracked rib. Kolb will get the start in his place, but Michael Vick, who was released to play this week by Roger Goodell, will see time under center as well. Head Coach Andy Reid has not been specific about the when's and where's regarding Vick, but he has indicated the former Falcon will be involved on offense.
