Tennessee Titans vs New York Jets NFL Predictions, Picks & Odds

Tennessee Titans vs New York Jets NFL Predictions, NFL Picks & NFL Odds: The Tennessee Titans come into today's game against the undefeated Jets desperate for a win. Jeff Fisher's squad certainly views itself as a playoff team, but it is not very often that a playoff squad starts the season with an 0-3 record. Today's 1:00pm ET meeting at the Meadowlands could mean the season for Tenneessee. Nonetheless, NFL Predictions at Bodog.com have the Titans listed as a +3 against the spread road dog.

Titans Breakdown: How does a team lose at home after rushing for 240 yards with a 9.6 yards per carry average? Simple, Tennessee Titans vs New York Jets NFL Predictions, Picks & Oddsthey turn the ball over twice, they commit eight penalties, and they allow the opposing quarterback to go off for 357 yards and four touchdowns. That is exactly what Tennessee did last week in falling 31-34 to the Texans.

The Titans front seven was unable to get a lot of pressure on Matt Schaub and the secondary paid the price, getting smoked repeatedly by Andre Johnson (10 catches, 149 yards, two touchdowns). Houston finished the day with 420 yards of offense, a number uncharacteristic of a Jeff Fisher defense.

Tennessee's offense did its part, racking up 449 yards behind an amazing day from running back Chris Johnson. Johnson had 16 carries for 197 yards and two touchdowns, but he also caught nine passes for 87 yards and a score. Quarterback Kerry Collins completed 21-of-33 pass attempts for 216 yards, two touchdowns and an interception, bringing his 2009 passer rating to 85.4.

Jets Breakdown: New York improved to 2-0 last weekend with a 16-9 win over the Patriots. Rex Ryan will have to make sure his team has come back to earth given that they have not pulled that off since Jimmy Carter was President. Okay, so maybe not quite that long, but it has been a while.

The Jets numbers were no thing of beauty, but they drug the Pats into an ugly game and pulled off the upset. Quarterback Mark Sanchez completed 14 of his 22 pass attempts for 163 yards and a touchdown, leading his team to 254 total yards. Leon Washington led the ground attack with 14 carries for 58 yards.

New York's new Ryanesque defense held New England to 299 yards and kept them scoreless in the red zone. The secondary was able to blanket Randy Moss with Wes Welker out of the lineup, which in turn led to a lackluster outing from Tom Brady.

NFL Predictions Betting Trend: The Titans are 7-3 straight up in their last 10 games as a road dog with a spread between 0 and 3.5 and a total between 37 and 41.
