NFL Week 4 Picks on the Detroit Lions vs Green Bay Packers Betting Odds: The Green Bay Packers look to rebound from last week’s loss when they host the winless Detroit Lions, Sunday Oct 3. The Packers lead the Lions 9-0 SU. NFL oddsmakers at BODOG.com have the Packers as -14.5 point home favorites over the Lions while the game's total has been posted at 46 points. The Lions (0-3) lost in Minnesota 10-24. QB Shaun Hill made 29 of 43 passes for 237 yards with a TD, but two interceptions. They only amassed 63 yards rushing, but outpassed the Vikings 232/185. TE Tony Scheffler made seven catches for 60 yards and added their lone TD. Hill was taking over for injured QB Matt Stafford.  Stafford said Monday that he plans to begin throwing this week to test his injured throwing shoulder. “F or me, it's a whole new process. I've never really injured my throwing arm or anything like that. So I'm just taking it step by step, just trying to do what the doctors are telling me to do to get back as soon as I can. Shaun Hill has started for the Lions in Stafford's absence. Hill has completed 63 of 107 passes for 660 yards and three touchdowns with five interceptions since replacing Stafford midway through the opener. The Lions 30th ranked defense, 26th ranked pass rush and 32nd ranked rush defense is going to get picked apart by the Packers, especially at Lambeau Field. The Lions were without six key players at Wednesday's practice. Among the missing were five starters: safety Louis Delmas (groin), middle linebacker DeAndre Levy (groin, calf), WR Nate Burleson (ankle), QB Matthew Stafford (shoulder) and RB Jahvid Best (toe).
Also out was RB Aaron Brown (hand).

The Packers (2-1) lost in Chicago 17-20 after a last minute fumble by the Packers sealed the win for the Bears. QB Aaron Rodgers was great making 34 of 45 passes for 316 yards with one TD and an interception. Their top WR Jermichael Finley made nine catches for 115 yards, while WR Greg Jennings added a TD. The biggest reason for their loss was penalties; they had 18 penalties for 152 yards. That can’t happen again! Their defense had pressure on the Packers quarterback all night long. Green Bay is going to be able to air it out against the Lions' secondary all day and make major gains in the passing game. I like the directions the Lions are going in, but Detroit will be without Matthew Stafford and that's just too big of a loss. The Packers defense is solid currently ranked second best in the league, with the third best pass rush. But, they are just average against the rush with an 18th ranked rush defense. Against the Lions weak offense they won’t have to worry, but against run happy teams they’ll need to improve.
