The Broncos (1-2) lost to Indianapolis 13-27 at home. QB Kyle Orton made 37 of 57 passes for 476 yards with one TD and an interception. Their top producer was WR Brandon Lloyd, who caught six passes for 169 yards with a TD. The Broncos were unable to score a touchdown in five trips to the red zone. The Broncos currently, and surprisingly, have the second best offense in the league, with the best pass game. But, they struggle with the 30th ranked running game, as RB Knowshon Moreno leads with 111 yards rushing and two TD’s. Their backs aren't running with good vision or making good choices — Laurence Maroney passed up a large swath of open field at one point Sunday to run into the flow of the defense — and up front the Broncos aren't making any room, especially when things get physical close to the goal line. But running the ball certainly isn't easy, because if it was, everybody would be doing it. If they can get their ground game going they’ll have the diversity to beat teams. The Broncos defense is ranked 10th against the rush and will have to be at their best against Titans run happy offense.
The Titans (2-1) won in New York 29-10 over the Giants. QB Vince Young completed 10 of 16 passes for 118 yards. His 13-yard touchdown strike to WR Kenny Britt helped the Titans pull away from the Giants during a stretch in which they scored 19 unanswered second-half points. RB Chris Johnson had 32 carries for 125 yards with two TD’s as defenses try to figure him out. They are run happy with the eighth best running game, but passing the ball, they don’t. They are ranked 30th as QB Vince Young struggles with 338 yards passing with three TD’s and two interceptions. As defenses continue to focus on Chris Johnson, it's going to be up to Young to open things up, and make plays of his own . Young threw the ball just four times in the first half against the Giants before the Titans opened things up. He should get more chances moving forward, so he's going to have to be accurate and make good decisions. While the Titans have been most stingy on defense, Giants QB Eli Manning threw for 386 yards against them last week and the Titans are now banged up in the secondary.
