New Orleans (2-1) got a 40-33, home win, over the Houston Texans in Week 3. QB Drew Brees passed for 370 yards and three touchdowns, and twice led the Saints back from fourth-quarter deficits. RB Mark Ingram had 9 carries for 38 yards with a touchdown, while Darren Sproles added another. TE Jimmy Graham made 4 catches for 100 yards with a touchdown and Lance Moore chipped in a touchdown. the Saints weren't anywhere close to dominant. The defense got gashed again and the running game still hasn't come together, with two new players joining Pierre Thomas in the backfield. The Saints don't have to dominate games, though. They just have to dominate a few series because of their playmaking ability. It's how the NFL's elite are breaking down their opponents. It's no longer with will or energy-consuming drives, but a crushing flurry of plays, sometimes in sequence, that wipes out the good other teams think they've generated. The frightening part is that two of his most dangerous weapons — tight end Jimmy Graham and Ingram — haven't really scratched the surface of how good they're going to be. Even so, they're still better than a lot of players other teams count on, which is why it will be a stretch for those teams with lesser talent to be in the playoff hunt.

Jacksonville (2-1) lost 10-16 in Carolina, in Week 3. QB Blaine Gabbert, the 10th pick of the draft, threw for 139 yards in his starting debut. That included a 36-yard touchdown pass to Mike Thomas. He completed 12 of 21 passes and had three fumbled snaps — the Jaguars recovered each one — to go with an interception. RB Maurice Jones-Drew had 24 carries for 122 yards. Besides Maurice Jones-Drew, Marcedes Lewis is the biggest weapon on the Jaguars' offense.  So far this year, Lewis has just four catches for 43 yards in the two games he’s played in.  Lewis has never had a single season in which he had over 518 yards and two touchdowns in his career before 2010, so there’s good chance that he’s a one-year wonder. After Mike Sims-Walker’s departure in free agency, Mike Thomas is the only respectable Jacksonville receiver remaining.  Thomas isn’t talented enough to be a No. 1 wide receiver.  At 5’8”, he’s also limited by his height, but he’s talented enough to start alongside a big receiver
