Atlanta's running game was nonexistent with RB Michael Turner, who had been averaging nearly 7 yards a carry, being limited to 20 yards on 11 attempts. The Falcons have allowed 13 sacks in three games, the third-highest total in the NFL through Sunday's games. Ryan was sacked four times by the Buccaneers. "We are very disappointed with the way we have protected our quarterback in the first three ballgames," Smith said. Smith says the line also struggled in run-blocking as Tampa Bay held Michael Turner to only 20 yards rushing on 11 carries. Ryan also was sacked four times in the Falcons' only win, a 35-31 home victory over Philadelphia. Ryan was sacked 23 times last season. He's on pace to top that total in only six games this year. Smith acknowledged he has no quick answers for the sudden problems in pass protection. Lack of continuity could be one issue. The Falcons lost guard Harvey Dahl, who signed with St. Louis as a free agent. Center Todd McClure missed the first two games after having arthroscopic surgery on his right knee.

QB Tavaris Jackson on the year has as many INT as he does TD’s at 2 a peice and only 527 yards. The running game has been no help as RB Marshawn Lynch is leading the way with a terrible 117 yards on 38 attempts for a low 3.1 yards per an attempt. The only rushing touchdown on this team has come from Tarvaris Jackson which was also their only touchdown last week against the Arizona Cardinals The game pits Seattle's No. 30-ranked offense, averaging 10 PPG, against a Falcons defense that ranks No. 24 this week at 25.7 PPG. The Seahawks aerial game is averaging 142.3 yards per game, less than the Falcons secondary allows through the air, 261 YPG per game. In comparing defenses, the Falcons own the league's No. 12-rated front 7 in terms of stopping the run, allowing 101.5 yards per game when on the road. Seattle, on the other hand, rates No. 14 this week in generating rushing yards at home.
