Bengals scored 14 unanswered points in the final frame and took the lead with just 00:14 left in the game. Carson Palmer engineered a 16 play, 71 yard drive that consumed five minutes of clock and put Cincy on top for good. Palmer closed out the day 20-of-37 for 183 yards and a touchdown. The Bengals offense did not do much, producing 273 total yards and converting just three of 12 third down opportunities, but it came through when it had to (3-for-3 on fourth down).
Cincy's defense allowed 373 yards as the Steelers had the ball almost 35 minutes, but it too came up big. Jonathan Joseph started the Bengals comeback in the third quarter, scoring on a interception of Ben Roethlisberger.
Browns Breakdown: There are a number of contenders for the worst team in the league, but the Browns made a huge case for the crown last Sunday in Baltimore. Eric Mangini's squad got crushed 34-0 by the Ravens and nothing about that score was an accident. Cleveland managed just 11 first downs, three third down conversions, and 186 yards in the loss. Quarterback Derek Anderson, who took the starting job from Brady Quinn, completed 11-of-19 passes for 92 yards and three picks. His performance likely cost him his job just as he got it.
The Browns' defense gave up 28 first downs and 479 to the Ravens. The lone bright spot for the unit was limiting Baltimore to 4-of-11 on third down conversion attempts.
