Saints Breakdown: New Orleans proved it is not a one trick pony last Sunday, beating the Bills 27-7 in Buffalo. Sure, the Saints had 378 yards of offense and 21 first downs, but they passed for just 156 yards while rushing for 222 at 5.8 per carry. They also punished Buffalo's offense with no holds barred defense that looks to have this team primed for a deep playoff run.
Quarterback Drew Brees managed the game effectively, completing 16-of-29 passes for 172 yards, but Pierre Thomas stole the spotlight with a 14 carry, 126 yard, two touchdown performance.
New Orleans defense held the Bills to 243 yards, 13 first downs, and two third down conversions. The unit also had four sacks, eight tackles for loss, and 14 quarterback hits.
