New England Patriots vs Miami Dolphins 2010 NFL Picks, 2010 NFL Predictions & 2010 NFL Odds: The New England Patriots and Miami Dolphins cap off the NFL's week four action with a divisional showdown tonight in South Florida. The game between the two AFC East rivals is scheduled to get underway at 8:30pm ET at Sun Life Stadium; it will be broadcast live on ESPN's Monday Night Football. 2010 NFL Picks, Predictions & Odds at online bookmaker BetUS.com have the Pats listed as a slight -1 against the spread road favorite and the game total set at 48.
New England will play its third straight divisional opponent tonight as it seeks to improve to 3-1 on the season. The Patriots
, which beat the Bengals 38-24 in week one, lost the the Jets 28-14 two weeks ago, but took out the Bills 38-30 last weekend in Foxborough.
New England's offense, other than a miserbale second half in New York, has been outstanding this season, ranking first in points per game at 30 and seventh in yards per game at 370.7. Quarterback Tom Brady is well on his way to another Pro Bowl season as he has completed 67.3 percent of his passes in route to a 109.1 passer rating. Brady, who is averaging 252.7 passing yards per game, has thrown eight touchdowns to just two interceptions.
While the Patriots offense has hummed along, their defense has been one of, if not the worst, in the league. Bill Belichick's troops, which are allowing 27.3 points and 379.3 yards per game, put on a horrid performance last week at home against the Bills. Buffalo, a team that ranks dead last in the league in yards per game (237.2), racked up 374 yards of offense, converted 5-of-10 on third down, and averaged 5.6 yards per carry against New England's beleaguered defense.
Miami also comes into this contest with a 2-1 record after dropping its first game of the season last week against the Jets. The Dolphins had a big offensive effort against New York, churning out 24 first downs and 436 yards while converting seven of their 15 third down opportunities.
Wide receiver Brandon Marshall had his first memorable outing as a Dolphin in the loss, catching 10 passes for 166 yards and a touchdown.
All the offense proved too little, though, as the Jets hit on two of their three red zone opportunities while also scoring touchdown strikes of 24 and 67 yards.
The Patriots have won four of the last six in this series; however, the Dolphins took the last meeting, beating Brady and company 22-21 last December at Sun Life Stadium.
NFL Picks Betting Trend: The Dolphins are 1-6 straight up and against the spread over the past five years playing as a home dog with a spread between 0 and 3.
