New York (2-2, 0-2 V) lost to Baltimore 17-34, on the road, in Week 4, for their second straight loss. QB Mark Sanchez went 11 for 35 for 119 yards, and the only score he produced until the fourth quarter was a field goal by Nick Folk after a 25-yard drive. The Ravens got 17 points off three fumbles by Sanchez. Mark Sanchez and Santonio Holmes have been unable to get on the same page on the field, and now the Jets teammates sound like they are at odds off of it. After the loss in Baltimore, Holmes did not hold back. "It starts up front with our big guys, they need to do a better job protecting Mark, and Mark has to do a better job making his reads and getting the ball to playmakers," Holmes said Sunday night. Sanchez said he did not take offense to the comment but that it was addressed. The Jets will have to alter their strategy this time or Brady, who admitted this summer that he'll "never get over that loss" in January, will likely pick them apart. "You can't just give Brady the same coverage over and over," Ryan said. "If he knows what coverage you're in, knows what front, knows what pressure, then he's going to carve you up. The chance you have is if there is some confusion there. You don't present an obvious picture to him. If you're just going to line up – I don't care how good your defense is – and run certain pressures, he's going to light you up."
New England (3-1, 1-0 H) beat the mistake-prone Oakland Raiders 31-19, on the road, in Week 4. QB Tom Brady bounced back from a four-interception performance by throwing for 226 yards, two touchdowns and committing no turnovers. Brady has to take on Rex Ryan’s Jets defense, who have the eighth best defense in the league, with the second best passing defense. Brady hasn’t always been able to solve Ryan’s exotic schemes. In the five games Brady has quarterbacked against the Ryan-coached Jets, he’s gone 2-3, throwing nine TDs and four interceptions while being sacked 11 times. He’s completed just 61 percent of his passes, with an 89.2 passer rating. During the most recent encounter with the Jets, the 28-21 playoff loss in January, the Jets took away Brady’s outside receivers and flooded the middle passing zones. They didn’t rush many up front, but still generated pressure. If there were open receivers, Brady had a hard time finding them. Get $50 in Free NFL Picks here.
