These two teams have met twice in franchise history with Houston winning both. The Texans (2-2) beat Oakland 29-6 at home in Week 4 and sit in third in the AFC South. QB Matt Schaub made 11 of 22 passes for 224 yards with one TD and one interception, overall he’s thrown for 1,047 yards with eight TD passes and three interceptions. Their top RB Steve Slayton had 21 carries for 65 yards with a TD, while top WR Andre Johnson made two catches for 66 yards. The Texans generated 120 yards rushing and 209 yards in the air as Matt Schaub connected with six of seven receivers for double digit yards. Houston's second-year rusher, Steve Slayton, has started to play better this season . After rushing for only 51 yards on 26 carries in the first two weeks, Slaton has compiled 141 yards on 33 carries in his past two games. He won't have an easy time against the Cardinals, who rank sixth in rush defense. The Texans have been way too inconsistent this season. They were soundly beaten by Jacksonville following a rousing Week 2 win at Tennessee. Houston must stay focused against a 1-2 Cardinals team that will be rested after a bye. The Texans are 8-3 when QB Matt Schaub has a 100-plus passer rating. Since 2008, Houston WR Andre Johnson leads the NFL in receiving yards (1,911) and catches (135).

The Cardinals (1-2) lost to Indianapolis 10-31 at home in Week 3 and sit second in the NFC West. QB Kurt Warner made 30 of 52 passes for 332 yards with one TD pass and two interceptions, overall he’s thrown for 863 yards with four TD passes and four interceptions. Their top RB Timothy Hightower had nine carries for 22 yards, while top WR Steve Breaston made seven catches for 94 yards. The Cardinals managed a low 24 yards rushing and 299 yards passing as Kurt Warner connected with six of ten receivers for double digit yards. The Cardinals were supposed to have an improved running game this season with first-round pick RB Beanie Wells to complement RB Timothy Hightower. However, those plans have been dashed, with Wells missing most of training camp due to an ankle injury and rushing only 16 times through three games. Look for Wells to get some more action against the Texans' 29th-ranked rushing defense. RB Hightower is one of three running backs to be leading his team in both rushing (109 yards) and receptions (20).
