Jets vs Dolphins Monday Night Football Odds: The Jets and Dolphins square off tonight it what has become a game of huge implications for both squads. A New York win gives them a two game lead in the AFC East and all but buries the Dolphins. However, a Miami win puts them right back in the division race at just a game back of both New York and New England. Kickoff in this AFC East showdown is set for 8:30pm ET at Land Shark Stadium in Miami, Florida. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN's Monday Night Football. Monday Night Football odds at SBGglobal.com have the Jets listed as a -2.5 against the spread road favorite.

Jets Breakdown: Everyone kept waiting for quarterback Mark Sanchez to turn in a rookie like performance, and he finally did Jets vs Dolphins Monday Night Football Oddslast weekend in New Orleans. Sanchez looked nothing short of awful against the undefeated Saints, completing 14-of-27 passes for 138 yards and three interceptions. The USC product ultimately accounted for all four of the Jets turnovers and 14 of New Orleans 24 point total.

Sanchez' first pick was retuned by Saints safety Darren Sharper 99 yards for a touchdown, and his lone fumble took place in his own endzone, which New Orleans recovered for an easy six. Both of those mishaps occurred in the second quarter, giving New Orleans a 17-3 lead at the break.

The Jets lost the game 10-24, dropping their record to 3-1 and them from the ranks of the undefeated.

New York Head Coach Rex Ryan, however, did not lose any belief in his quarterback as a result of the wretched outing. Ryan remained adamant that Sanchez has the kind of mental make-up to put last Sunday's performance behind him.

"He's like a tiger, he's going to come roaring back" Ryan said. "There's no doubt. I have 100 percent confidence in him, and I have confidence in our team."

The Jets defense certainly earned the coaches faith, even in defeat. New York basically held the league's top rated offense to 10 points in the Superdome. The Saints had 343 total yards, but they were just 4-of-13 on third down and 1-of-4 in the red zone.

Dolphins Breakdown: Miami got off the snide last weekend with a dominating 38-10 win over division rival Buffalo at Land Shark Stadium. The Fins steam rolled the beleaguered Bills with a punishing ground game that racked up 250 yards (5.6 yards per carry) and enabled them to hold the ball for 37:09. Running back Ronnie Brown led the way with a 20 carry, 115 yard, two touchdown performance. Ricky Williams was close behind, carrying the ball 16 times for 85 yards and one score.

Quarterback Chad Henne, who stepped into the starting spot with Chad Pennington out for the season, completed 14-of-22 passes for 115 yards and a touchdown.

Miami began the season 0-3, inspite of playing a decent brand of football. Now, with the Patriots at 3-2, they can work themselves right back in the mix with a win over New York this evening.

"We got that first win, and we realize we can play with anybody," guard Justin Smiley said. "We know that, we just needed that win to prove it."

Monday Night Football Odds Betting Trend: The Jets are 5-0 against the spread and 4-1 straight up in their last five game at Miami.
