St.Louis (0-4, 0-1 V) was on their bye week in Week 5. In Week 4 they lost 10-17, at home, to Washington. QB Sam Bradford completed 20 of 43 passes for 164 yards with a touchdown. RB Steven Jackson scored on a 15-yard reception earlier in the fourth quarter for the Rams, who trailed 17-0 after three quarters. Now, following an 0-4 start to the season, the Rams need Jackson to utilize whatever power he has to affect positive change. Jackson stopped practice Monday and gathered the offense around him for a motivational talk. He declined to discuss what was said. Coach Steve Spagnuolo on what Jackson was getting at: "Yeah, just some determination. Some will to succeed, some drive for excellence. Just some key points and we appreciate that. I'm sure the guys on defense were doing the same thing. James Hall and I talked this morning. He's great. They get it. These guys are warriors. They've been through this and we've just got to fight our way out of it." This week might not be the best time for a win, as the Rams 31st ranked offense, 28th ranked pass game and 25th ranked running game goes up against the Packers 21st ranked defense, 30th ranked pass rush and 3rd ranked rush defense. Their best chance is to run the ball. To top it off, The Rams have lost cornerbacks Ron Bartell, Jerome Murphy and Bradley Fletcher to season-ending injuries.
Green Bay (5-0, 2-0 H) got a 25-14, road win, over the Atlanta Falcons, in Week 5. QB Aaron Rodgers threw for 396 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Rodgers connected with WR James Jones on a 70-yard touchdown that gave Green Bay its first lead late in the third. Then, on the first play of the fourth quarter, Rodgers connected with WR Greg Jennings on a 29-yard scoring play that stretched the lead to 22-14. The Packers have now won 11 straight dating to last season, including their march to the Super Bowl title. Against the Falcons, Rodgers completed passes to 12 different receivers in the game. "I remember at one point the (television announcer) saying that's the 11th different receiver and then it was the 12th," Rams Coach Spagnuolo said. "That tells you all you need to know about Aaron Rodgers. He spreads it around and makes them tough to defend. They've got quality players in a lot of spots." Rodgers leads the NFL with a passer rating of 122.9. His 14 touchdowns tie New England's Tom Brady for the most in the NFL. Get $50 in Free NFL Picks here.
