NFL Power Rankings Week 6

by Matt Foust on Wednesday, October 13th, 2010

NFL Power Rankings Week 6: The Jets maintained their first place standing in our Sportsbook.com NFL Power Rankings after a Monday night win over the Vikings. In fact, the top four remained intact as the Ravens, Steelers, and Falcons all held their ground; however, the rest of the top 10 experienced a major shakeup as the Packers, Saints, Chiefs, and Texans all lost.

1. New York Jets (4-1 SU) (4-1 ATS): An impressive win against a desperate club.

2. Baltimore Ravens (4-1 SU) (3-2 ATS): If they can beat New England on Sunday, this team could easily be 7-1 heading into a week 10 battle at Atlanta.

3. Pittsburgh Steelers (3-1 SU) (3-1 ATS): What a way to come off a bye…their quarterback returns and they get to play the Browns at home.

4. Atlanta Falcons (4-1 SU) (2-2 ATS): The Falcons look like the class of the NFC right now.

5. New England Patriots (3-1 SU) (2-2 ATS): The defense played better at Miami, but the Patriots still have some work to do to catch the Jets.

6. Indianapolis Colts (3-2 SU) (3-2 ATS): Rebounded from a tough road loss by taking out the league's lone undefeated team.

7. Tennessee Titans (3-2 SU) (3-2 ATS): Disappointed at home against Denver, but made amends by upsetting Dallas on the road.

8. Green Bay Packers (3-2 SU) (2-3 ATS): The Packers ability to give away a game is starting to look Raider-like. Now they have injuries to worry about as well.

9.  New Orleans Saints (3-2 SU) (0-4-1 ATS): Sean Payton's squad still appears to have a post-Super Bowl hangover.

10. Philadelphia Eagles (3-2 SU) (2-3 ATS): Forced to switch quarterbacks and still overcame a desperate team on the road.

11. Kansas City Chiefs (3-1 SU) (3-1 ATS): The defense is for real, but the offense is a work in progress.

12. Chicago Bears (4-1 SU) (3-2 ATS): Yeah it was Carolina, but they still won on the road without their starting quarterback.

13. New York Gaints (3-2 SU) (3-2 ATS): What a defensive turnaround; it's starting to look like 2007.

14. Washington Redskins (3-2 SU) (3-1-1 ATS): They are about to turn winning ugly into an art form.

15. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-1 SU) (2-1-1 ATS): At what point is it no longer luck?

16. San Diego Chargers (2-3 SU) (2-3 ATS): Top 10 talent on defense, top five on offense, but the special teams is horrid.

17. Dallas Cowboys (1-3 SU) (1-3 ATS): There is no excuse for such error prone football, especially off a bye.

18. Houston Texans (3-2 SU) (2-2-1 ATS): The defense is a problem, and the offense has its share of issues as well.

19. Jacksonville Jaguars (3-2 SU) (3-2 ATS): As Garrard goes, so go the Jaguars.

20. Denver Broncos (2-3 SU) (2-3 ATS): They can pass the ball as well as anybody, but can they do anything else?

21. Minnesota Vikings (1-3 SU) (1-2-1 ATS): Favre may be their greatest and worst asset, as illustrated on Monday night.

22. Miami Dolphins (2-2 SU) (2-2 ATS): What a schedule break, Sunday's game at Green Bay looks much less daunting than it did two weeks ago.

23. Oakland Raiders (2-3 SU) (2-3 ATS): It is difficult to out-Raider the Raiders, but the Chargers did it on Sunday.

24. Cincinnati Bengals (2-3 SU) (2-3 ATS): If Carson Palmer keeps this up, he may be playing behind his brother.

25. Detroit Lions (1-4) (4-1 ATS): They have been competitive every week and their effort finally resulted in a win.

26. Arizona Cardinals (3-2 SU) (2-3 ATS): It's always nice when the defending Super Bowl Champion gift wraps a win for you.

27. St. Louis Rams (2-3 SU) (3-2 ATS): The Rams looked ill-prepared against the Lions, but, amazingly, the NFC West is still a possibility.

28. Seattle Seahawks (2-2 SU) (2-2 ATS): Had some work to do over the bye, but at least the run defense is solid.

29. Cleveland Browns (1-4 SU) (2-2-1 ATS): They fight hard, but their efforts seldom result in a win.

30. San Francisco 49ers (0-5 SU) (2-3 ATS): The ownership is backing Singletary, but has he lost the team already?

31. Buffalo Bills (0-5 SU) (1-4 ATS): Unfortunately they do not play Carolina this year. That game would answer the question that is on everyone's mind..

32. Carolina Panthers (0-5 SU) (1-4 ATS): This team will win a game, but its anybody's guess as to when.
